Download the ZIP archive. It holds one file per page, named page-001.pdf, page-002.pdf and so on, in document order.
Only need some of the pages?
Split separates every page. To keep only pages 3 to 7, or pages 2, 5 and 9, in a single PDF, use Extract pages.
It is also the tool to cut a PDF in two: a first extraction with 1-10, a second with 11-, which runs from page 11 to the end.
What each file contains
Each file carries its page and nothing else. Nothing else from the document comes along: not the other pages, not the attachments, not the author name or the original title. You can pass one on without passing on the rest.
The page is not re-encoded: its text, images and fonts are those of the original PDF. Its web links are kept, and so are the bookmarks that point to it. Links to other pages of the document are removed, since those pages are no longer there.
Two things are not kept. A form does not stay a form: its fields can no longer be filled in the files produced. And the accessibility tagging of the original document is not carried over.
Privacy and security
The split runs on our OVHcloud servers in France. No US third party is involved in the process — no CDN, no storage, no tracker. Your PDFs are never indexed, analyzed or inspected. No result is cached.
The PDF you drop and the archive produced are deleted after one hour. If you create a share link, a copy of the archive is kept for the period you chose (up to 7 days on Free and 30 days on Premium). You can delete the share at any time. conv2pdf is GDPR-compliant, and a DPA is available on request for professional use.
Frequently asked questions
How many pages can I split?
Up to 200 pages per PDF. Beyond that the document is refused: keep part of it first with Extract pages, then split that part.
Why is the result a ZIP file?
A 40-page document gives 40 files. Gathering them in one archive lets you download everything in a single click, without missing any. Windows, macOS, Android and iOS open a ZIP without extra software.
The archive is larger than my PDF. Is that normal?
Yes, it happens. In the original document, pages share their fonts and sometimes their images. Once separated, each one has to carry its own. The archive cannot exceed 600 MB.
What if my PDF has a single page?
There is nothing to split: the tool tells you so and produces nothing.
What if it is password-protected?
Drop it as usual: if the file is protected, a field appears for its opening password. The files produced have no password.
