Why convert a Pages file?
Pages is Apple's word processor, bundled with every Mac, iPhone and iPad. Its .pages format opens nowhere else: Word, LibreOffice and Google Docs all refuse it. Receiving a dissertation, a CV or a report in that format while working on Windows or Android means facing a file you simply cannot open.
A PDF settles it for good: it opens on any device, prints identically, and can be sent without the recipient owning the original software.
Supported iWork formats
This tool converts Pages documents (.pages) in both generations: iWork '09 packages and the modern versions, including files exported from iCloud. A .pages folder compressed on a Mac is accepted too.
Numbers (.numbers) and Keynote (.key) are not supported, and that is deliberate. We measured them on real documents: a Numbers spreadsheet comes out sliced column by column across dozens of pages and loses its charts; a Keynote deck overlaps its titles and brings template placeholders back on top of the actual text. Rather than charge you for an unusable PDF, we prefer to turn the file down.
If you have a Mac, an iPhone or an iPad at hand, the most faithful route is to open the document in Numbers or Keynote and choose Export To → PDF. From a browser, iCloud does the same with an Apple account.
What you get
A paginated PDF that follows the document's layout: text styles, images, tables, columns, headers and footers. Fonts installed on our servers are used as they are; a font exclusive to macOS and missing from our servers is replaced by the closest available one, which may shift line breaks slightly.
A password-protected document cannot be converted: remove the protection in Pages before sending it. We tell you so explicitly instead of handing back an empty file.
Privacy and security
Conversion happens on our OVH servers, in France. No American service is involved in the process — no CDN, no storage, no tracker. Your documents are never indexed, analysed or reviewed. No result is cached: two conversions of the same file produce two independent PDFs.
The Pages document and the generated PDF are deleted after one hour. If you create a share link, a copy of the file is kept for the period you chose (up to 7 days on Free and 30 days on Premium). You can delete the share at any time. conv2pdf is GDPR compliant.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Mac or an Apple account?
No. Conversion runs on our servers: a browser is enough, from Windows, Android, Linux or ChromeOS.
What is a .pages file?
It is the format of Pages, the word processor included free on Apple devices. Technically it is a compressed folder holding the text, the images and the layout; only Apple's software reads it natively.
Why is my .numbers file rejected?
Because the result would not be presentable. An automatically converted spreadsheet breaks column by column across many pages and loses its charts. We would rather refuse clearly than hand you a PDF you could not use.
Is the layout identical to the original?
It is very close. Any differences come from fonts: if the document uses a macOS-exclusive typeface, it is replaced by the nearest match, which can move line breaks slightly.
What about a Word or OpenDocument file?
